What is the ADA wristband and how do I get one?

The ADA wristband is a credential that lets BookCon staff know you may need accessibility assistance during the event.

You can obtain your wristband at the ADA Desk at Will Call located just inside the ADA entrance to the venue. Wristbands must be picked up in person at the event

Do I still need a ticket if I receive an ADA wristband?

Yes. The ADA wristband does not provide admission to BookCon. All attendees must have a valid ticket to enter the event.

Can someone accompany me if I need assistance?

Yes. Each ADA guest may receive one companion wristband so someone can assist them during the event. Exceptions may be made for families with young children.

Does the ADA wristband guarantee seating at panels?

No. Accessible seating is provided where possible, but panel seating is first-come, first-served and cannot be guaranteed.

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the panel begins to improve your chances of getting accessible seating. That being said, our staff and crew will do their best to accommodate regardless of arrival time.

Is there a dedicated ADA Coordinator for BookCon?

Yes! You will have access to a dedicated ADA Coordinator onsite at the event. This person will help answer any questions you may have and ensure you have access to the accommodations you need. This person will be stationed at the ADA Registration Desk.

Can I bring a cart to help me carry things onsite?

Yes. Your ADA wristband will allow you to use a cart at the show.

What accommodations will there be for the hearing impaired?

We will have ASL seating in panel rooms as well as ASL interpreters for the Main Stage and Room 405.

Are there accessible lines for panels and signings?

Yes. All panel rooms and author autograph areas offer separate ADA queues to help fans who need accommodations.

If the signing is hosted inside an exhibitor booth, accessibility accommodations may vary and are managed by that exhibitor.

Can I sit while waiting in line?

Yes. You may bring small seating items such as a collapsible stool, and in some areas, staff may be able to provide chairs upon request.

Is there a quiet space if I feel overwhelmed?

Yes. BookCon provides a Quiet Room away from the show floor for attendees who need a calm environment to rest or decompress.

What if I need additional accommodations?

If you require specific assistance not listed here, please contact our team in advance or visit the ADA Desk onsite. Our staff will do their best to accommodate your needs.
