Frequently Asked Questions
About BookCon
What is BookCon, anyway?
BookCon is a two-day event where storytelling and pop culture collide.
Step into a weekend where stories come alive and fantasy meets reality. Where meeting your favorite author is just the beginning of your adventure. From intimate author chats and immersive experiences to book swaps that feel like treasure hunts, we're building an event for lovers of storytelling in all its forms.
Consider this your official permission slip to geek out about that one specific paragraph on page 247 that made you throw the book across the room (in the best way possible). Whether you're a longtime BookTube, Bookstagram, or BookTok creator or someone who quietly devours three books a week in your favorite reading nook, your chapter in this story is essential.

What can I do if I’ve lost something?

If you happen to leave the event and realize you’re missing something, you can visit the Javits Center’s website to fill out a form for your missing item.
Where’s First Aid? Where can I go if I’m hurt?
If you're hurt and it requires more than the comfort of your favorite book boyfriend, reach out to the nearest our Staff or Security and we'll get you the help you need. If you need minor care and are able, you can head to the Javits Center’s First Aid location on Level 1 in between Halls C and D.
Is there a coat check?

Is there a quiet place I can go to get away from the crowd?
Yes! BookCon will have a Quiet Room located away from the Show Floor. Anyone who is anxious or overwhelmed is welcome to visit that room to decompress and take a break. The location will be announced closer to the event.
Note: Strict volume levels will be enforced in the Quiet Room as this is for resting, not socializing or a lunch break. Don’t make us send the librarians after you.

I subscribed to the newsletter but haven't received one. What's wrong?
There are a few reasons this could be happening. Here are a few troubleshooting tips for you!
Always check your spam folder. Always. And triple check your privacy settings! Whether your email service provider automatically filtered ReedPop emails out or you wanted to take a break, make sure you're set up to receive our incoming newsletters again.
Have you unsubscribed from ReedPop newsletters in the past 2 years? If yes, we promise not to hold it against you. Just subscribe again! When our team adds new subscribers to our database, your email will be added. If not, you can reach out to our customer service team to get you back on track.
Not all email service providers are created equally. If you are having trouble receiving our emails you may need to update your email or the service provider you use.
Can I bring a gift for an author?
Fans are welcome to bring gifts for guests. However, we do have some guidelines. Fans can bring gifts to the Autographing Table where it can be given to the guest or passed along to the guest's handler for them to receive later. Guests will not accept food or drink items and outside alcohol is not allowed in the building.
For all other gifts, our standard safety policies apply. When working on a gift for a guest, please remember that guests travel to events and what they can bring back with them is very limited. Any big or oversized gifts will most likely be left behind.
